David Burke
David Burke is a Senior Media Producer with State Farm Insurance. In 2001, David won an Emmy Award (National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences -- Chicago/Midwest Chapter) for “Tornado: Surviving the Fury,” a syndicated program seen by more than 10 million viewers nationwide. And in 2007, he received the prestigious Silver Telly award for his writing on the commercial, "Like a Girl..." He’s also received Gold and Silver awards from the International Association of Audio Visual Communicators, and several regional awards, for his work. He is a veteran of nearly 100 video and film productions.
David has written two unpublished manuscripts: One Particular Harbor and Where Would You Be? In his spare time, he is a columnist for “Hearts at Home,” a national magazine and ministry for stay-at-home parents, and is a regular editorial contributor to print and broadcast news outlets in Central Illinois. His short stories have been published in several literary e-zines, and one book, Professional Motherhood (Zondervan).
David holds degrees in Mass Communications and Education from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and Auburn University, respectively. He has three children and lives in Normal, Illinois.
